SYDNEY, Jan 11 AAP- ThinkSmart Ltd will include online data transfers and back-up for customers who lease office equipment through the company as it aims to expand its Australian market share.

ThinkSmart will offer customers who use its RentSmart operating lease product with enhancements to transfer existing files to new machines, and have those files backed up for the duration of the lease, the Perth-based company said in a statement on Monday.

"These services provide significant additional value to customers beyond the inherent financial benefits of the RentSmart product and we expect them to be a catalyst for further product growth in the Australian market during 2010," ThinkSmart executive chairman Ned Montarello said in the statement.

The company's RentSmart product is available at JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith and Officeworks and allows customers to obtain finance approval at the time of purchase, to rent the product rather than pay the full amount on the spot.

The enhanced features also will allow customers to access their back-up data from anywhere in the world and a free laptop on loan if equipment is stolen or faulty.

Shares in ThinkSmart added one cent, or 1.08 per cent, to 94 cents by 1250 AEDT, the highest since September 2008.

ThinkSmart also said it would waive the last three months of payments for customers choosing to upgrade equipment before the end of their term.

"The RentSmart product meets a need for business customers as well as consumer customers, who now account for over 60 per cent of the new business we write in Australia every month," said Mr Montarello, who owns about 20 per cent of the company.

The company has operations also in Europe and New Zealand.
