Calligo, offshore cloud service provider, today announced CloudCopy, a fully managed cloud backup service for the offshore market.

Using the latest technologies, CloudCopy allows organisations to backup their data into the cloud. Whether data is stored on-premise, at a co-location site or is already in the cloud, it can be backed up to Calligo’s dual data centres.

Calligo (www.calligo.net) has partnered with Databarracks (http://www.databarracks.com/)  to provide this service. Databarracks has a 10 year history of delivering managed backup solutions and now has well over 1,000 clients and protects in excess of 10PB of data.

Andrew Wicks, Chief Commercial Officer, Calligo, commented, “CloudCopy is a unique service for offshore organisations. Arguably nothing is more important to a business than the security, integrity and availability of their data. CloudCopy backups are replicated across independent data centres in two different jurisdictions. Clients have the further confidence that, through the partnership with Databarracks, they have access to the widest range of backup experience.”

Key CloudCopy features include:
• Dynamic backup
• Flexible restore
• Continuous data protection (CDP)
• Bare metal restore (BMR) and disaster recovery (DR)
• Agentless
• Tiered storage for long term, cost effective, backups

Peter Groucutt, Managing Director, Databarracks, stated, “As a Guernsey-man I am particularly pleased to be partnering with Calligo to deliver our award winning services into the Channel Islands and other offshore markets. We have been looking for a specialist offshore partner for some time and Calligo’s technical vision is a perfect match to our own.
