Acronis True Image 12 Brings File Sync to Online Backup

Cliff Boodoosingh, Editor on August 29, 2011
29 August: Backup and recovery specialist Acronis is today launching Acronis® True Imageô Home 2012, an easy-to-use and reliable backup and recovery solution which protects consumersí files, photos, music and other files, as well as allowing them to share their data securely between multiple PCs and laptops.

Sharing photos and videos with family and friends or accessing the latest files from different locations has been a pain point for a long time. The most common solution is to save files to flash drives or email them to an email account then transfer or download to other devices in different locations Ė a time consuming and manually intensive task.

There are a few solutions on the market to automate the job; however, they lack backup and recovery functions, which are a must when it comes to files and photos. Thanks to Acronis, consumers can now have file synchronisation combined with award winning backup and recovery software, providing the ultimate computing experience.

Acronis provides the most comprehensive, easy to use backup and recovery solution in the world, allowing fast and reliable recovery. Users can easily back up and synchronise their information to and between PCs, USB drives and into the cloud, meaning home users can access their most up-to-date data anywhere, any time. The new solution also allows consumers to share their data socially and securely with friends and family.

How does it work?
The file sync is as simple as setting up a folder (akin to My Documents) and placing the documents and files to be synched in that folder. The information is automatically transferred and available between the different locations that the user wants to access. For example, if you are a student, you might save the latest version of your CV onto your home computer, then go around to a friendís house to proof it together, then continue to fine-tune it with your parents. If you make a change in one location, it is automatically updated everywhere, even between friendís and familyís computers!

The productís special disk imaging technology also captures an entire PC, including the operating system, applications and files, meaning if you spill a cup of coffee over your notebook or if it gets stolen, you can still recover all your important data. Essentially what you are buying is peace of mind that your memories are safe. And because itís so easy to use, even a techie novice can easily back up and recover lost or accidentally deleted files.

Acronis True Image Home 2012 is also available with the option of backing up files and folders over the Internet to a secure location using Acronis® True Imageô Online - a complementary, automatic, simple and safe way to back up important files so they are protected from natural disasters and theft as well as every day IT mishaps.
